Breathing monitor: borrow or buy

Buying a breathing monitor is a more expensive option, especially if you only plan to use it for a few months. Borrowing lets you have a reliable device during the period when it is truly needed—without increasing your expenses.

For many parents it is a more affordable way to give their baby safe sleep and peace of mind in the first months of life.

Since 2008 we have built an extensive network of rental locations in Slovakia so that a breathing monitor is available to every family, regardless of region. We currently operate at more than 70 rental locations.

You can borrow a breathing monitor right after birth in hospital or at your nearest Dr. Max pharmacy.

Borrowing is quick, without unnecessary paperwork and without complicated ordering. To collect a device you only need an ID card and a signed loan agreement. You can pick it up in person or through a pre-arranged process.

Our goal is for parents to have a breathing monitor available when they need it most—without delay, stress, or obstacles.

If you are insured with Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa, you can use a financial contribution of up to €50 toward borrowing a breathing monitor. This benefit is available through Peňaženka zdravia in the mobile app or via the VšZP ePobočka.

This option is available exclusively to VšZP insured clients and is important help for parents who want a reliable medical device for their baby without major costs.

Every family has different needs, so we approach borrowing individually. We lend breathing monitors for as long as the risk period lasts, or according to a paediatrician’s recommendation.

If parents need to use the monitor longer, the loan can be extended by 3 or 6 months.
